Sometimes racing can be unkind. And there are times, it can be unkind, and still show a measure of favor.
For Trussell Motorsports, this is certainly the way their racing
schedule has turned out to be over the course of the last two weeks.
A DNQ, a broken transmission as an inserted alternate in the first
round, and inevitably eliminated early on Saturday at the NHRA Thunder
Valley Nationals in Bristol, Tenn., dropped the Irmo, SC-based team to
fourth in the championship standings.

HOOVER REACHES QUARTERS IN ETOWN, BRISTOL NEXT STOP |

The Trussell Motorsports Pro Modified Camaro entered the NHRA
SuperNationals with a wave of momentum following the team’s victory at
Atlanta. The end result was another strong showing and another
quarter-final finish.
Ed Hoover lost a tough second round race to eventual winner Danny Rowe in a battle of supercharged titans.
Hoover entered Saturday’s first round of eliminations as the 13th quickest qualifier with a 5.945 elapsed times.
Hoover then stepped up with a 5.939, 244.07 to beat Mike Knowles, who
ran an identical ET. The difference between the two cars was Hoover’s
quicker reaction time and the win-light.
