HOOVER DRIVES TO NORWALK QUARTERS |

Thursday, 15 July 2010 |

Ed Hoover raced his way to the quarter-finals of the NHRA Summit Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio.
The veteran drag racer made the tough sixteen-car field as the fifth quickest with a 5.963 elapsed time with a speed of 239.92 miles per hour.
Hoover then used lane choice to his advantage to defeat Troy Coughlin, advancing to Sunday's quarter-final round of eliminations for the second event in a row.
In what could be described as one of the most generous shows of sportsmanship, Hoover waited for Pat Musi to start his race car in the second round. At the last minute, Musi's car fired and though Hoover led most of the race, the EFI racer caught him in the lights for the win.
Hoover is currently seventh in the points. The next event is the NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis on Labor Day weekend.
