HOOVER/LANG: TIME TO STRIKE IS NOW

For Pro Modified drivers Ed Hoover and Kenny Lang – the time to strike is now.

With the season about to kick into full gear, Hoover and Lang find themselves second and third in points respectively and the two veterans know that with summer quickly approaching, the time to make a move is now.

“We have never been in a position like this so early in the year and we are definitely excited about our chances this season,” Hoover said.

HOOVER MOVES INTO SECOND IN PRO MOD POINTS

hoover.jpgEd Hoover has moved into second place in the IHRA Pro Modified point standings on the strength of the recently completed IHRA Spring Nationals in Rockingham, N.C. Hoover drove Paul Trussell's Camaro to another semi-final finish losing to defending world champion Kenny Lang.

Hoover qualified fifth and defeated Tommy Gray and Burton Auxier in the first two rounds of competition.

ADRL Faces Uncharted Territory in their Rulebook …

hoover.jpgPro Modified team owner Paul Trussell admits that he didn’t get as angry as he could have been Saturday evening at the ADRL Hardees Georgia Drags in Valdosta, Ga.

Trussell’s supercharged Camaro was competing in the Pro Extreme division when driver Ed Hoover got out of shape and crossed the centerline on the burnout. Tommy D’Aprile, in the other lane, had time to get out of the throttle to prevent a collision.

Trussell said the team backed up and went through their staging procedure and nothing was said to the team by the starter or any race official until after the race. Hoover outreacted D’Aprile and beat him to the finish line with a 3.87 elapsed time.

HOOVER RACES TO SEMIS IN BATON ROUGE

Ed Hoover drove Paul Trussell's supercharged Camaro to the semis at the IHRA Mardi Gras Nationals in Baton Rouge to open to the 2009

Hoover entered eliminations as the No. 3 qualifier and battled his way past opponents Al Suggs Jr., and Danny Rowe before losing a tough battle against eventual winner Raymond Commisso in the semis.

Hoover is currently third in the championship points.
